A TERMINALLY ill Whitchurch woman has had an application for a blue badge accepted - after being warned she would face a 12-week delay.
Sarah Jackson had been told she would have to wait nearly three months for the badge but was told on Friday that her application for the blue badge had been processed and accepted and should receive it within seven working days.
Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago, before being told last year that the disease had returned.
The lack of a blue badge has left her a long way from the hospital doors when she visits the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

She added: "If you can't use a disabled space, you can end up being miles away from where you need to be.
"My mobility has been impacted by the treatments I am having.
"I am struggling to walk any distance at all on my bad days.
"If I can't get close to where my appointment is, it is a nightmare really.
"Parking in a disabled space will make life a lot easier."
Sarah spoke about her frustration when she was told she would have to wait 12 weeks and how it added to the stress.
She said: "12 weeks was just ridiculous.
"I have friends who live elsewhere in the country who have got theirs within days.
"I have been awarded the higher level of personal independence payment which automatically qualifies you for a blue badge.
"It is not as though there is any checking up to do or anything like that.
"It is not great to be in my situation anyway. You do not need that on top of it."
Sarah explained: "You apply on the Government website and it passes it on to the relevant local authority.
"It is a huge relief. I have got a hospital appointment on Friday at 10.30 am.

"If I have one at that time or a bit later, I will drop my son at school and drive straight to the hospital.
"It can take a long time to find a space.
"It makes it very stressful.
"There are disabled spaces closer to the entrance which is brilliant.
"Hopefully, now I will be able to use them."
