A WHITCHURCH walking group has announced its two showpiece events for August.
The Whitchurch Walkers, one of the best known groups in north Shropshire and Cheshire, will be holding two long treks on Sunday, August 13 and Saturday, August 26.
A spokesman for the group set out the routes for people wishing to join in on walks to Shrewsbury and around Whitchurch itself.
They said: “Walk one is Severn Way and Rea Brook Valley loop.
“Please note that this walk meets at Whitchurch railway station at the earlier time of 10.20am to catch the 10.33am train to Shrewsbury.

“We then follow the Shropshire Way to Ditherington, then switch banks to join the Severn Way before heading towards the Rea Brook Valley.

“Then on Saturday 26th August 1.30pm, it is Grindley Brook and Back.
“Starting at Sherrymill Hill car park, this six-mile walk will head out along the canal to Grindley Brook.
“Then to Llethr Mill along part of the Llwybr Maelor Way, passing Wolvesacre Hall and Bubney.”
The walkers hold frequent treks and can be found online, as can details of the group’s annual walking festival.
