THE resounding success of a charity fundraising evening hosted by an Ellesmere fashion retailer has ignited the prospect of an enduring annual tradition.

Ismay Evans, the proprietor of a High Street boutique, was overjoyed with the outcome of her second charitable event, raising more than £2,200.

That money will be used to offer invaluable aid and support to women grappling with breast cancer—a condition from which she herself made a commendable recovery after undergoing a mastectomy last year.

She said: “The turnout was amazing.

“I can’t thank people enough for all the support I’ve had – from the people who bought tickets, and the small team of volunteers who gave me so much help, to the stallholders who offered such a range of lovely things to buy, and also other local businesses who donated vouchers and other prizes for the raffle.

“In total, we had more than 70 prizes for the draw, thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many people. I also want to thank Ellesmere Rotary Club who gave me a cheque for £100.”

Ellesmere Town Hall witnessed an impressive congregation of approximately 200 attendees, who flocked to the summer shopping extravaganza.

The event showcased an array of 20 craft stalls, alongside a dedicated presentation that disseminated crucial advice and information about breast cancer.

This marks the second consecutive year that Ismay has orchestrated this benevolent initiative, all in aid of the renowned charity, Breast Cancer Now.

The event not only garnered enthusiastic patronage but also evoked interest from participating stall-holders, some of whom have already expressed their desire to return for the next edition.

Driven by the deep-seated desire to give back in appreciation for the support she herself received during her breast cancer journey, Ismay Evans intends to carry forward this impactful event as an enduring annual tradition.
