THE indoor Friday market will be back in Whitchurch this week following a short break, the town council has confirmed.
It comes after much of the Civic Centre was closed for an indefinite period because of the discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) in some parts of the building.
Meanwhile, Shropshire Council has also closed the town’s library which is based in the building while engineers make further investigations.
However, Whitchurch Proper Officer Mike McDonald has now confirmed that some stallholders may be able to return this week.
OTHER NEWS:
He said: “We’re thrilled to tell you that a limited Indoor Market will return to Whitchurch Friday Market in the Market Hall this Friday.
“Please do your best to support those traders who are supporting our town by working with us to provide the best Market we can, while work continues at the Civic Centre.
“We will be in a position to publish a list of stalls attending later this week.
“In the meantime, please remember that there is currently no direct route from the front of the Civic Centre to the Market Hall and that access is via a separate entrance on our rear car park on St Mary's Street.”
