WHITCHURCH’S own TV star Christina Trevanion has been ‘Stateside’ to promote the second series of her hit show ‘The Travelling Auctioneers’.
The auctioneer and star of shows such as Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip headed to Palm Springs in California last week for a talk about her latest work.
The Travelling Auctioneers has matched Christina, who runs her own auction house in Station Road, with Will Kirk, from The Repair Shop, and has had a second series commissioned, which she has been out to sell to America.

Christina admitted the experience was one she will never forget, talking to top executives and learning about how TV is bought in America.
“Back in the summer of 2023, I was asked to go to California to present series two of our show The Travelling Auctioneers at the American Public Television Fall Conference in Palm Springs,” she said.
“I’ve never been to the west coast of the United States before – it was a wonderful, sun soaked experience.
“I was there for just under a week, and in that time had meetings with television and channel executives to explain what our series was all about.
“I also presented a segment on the series at the conference and was part of a question and answer session with Meredith Speight who is the president of Public Television Programming.
“Series one of The Travelling Auctioneers has proved very popular with American audiences and so it was great to give them a snap shot of what series two will look like before it airs in the UK early next year on BBC One.
“It was fascinating to gain a better understanding of how television programming works in America, it’s a very different system to British TV.”
Christina also took time to take advantage of the chance to top up the tan and explore the city and its palm trees as well.
But she added she was kept on her guard by one resident.

“I did have couple of days off before flying back last week,” she said.
“I used that as an opportunity to go walking in the mountains outside Palm Springs which was absolutely stunning – but I have to confess, I was a bit nervous about the rattle snakes.”
The Travelling Auctioneers is expected to be back in 2024.
