THE opening of a new flower shop in Wem proved a success as dozens of well-wishers for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Following the celebration of Jackie Parker’s Dasher Flower Shop, the 62 people in attendance enjoyed bubbly and cake at The Castle.
Pauline Dee, BEM, expressed gratitude for the honor of opening the new shop and commended Jackie's entrepreneurial spirit.

She said: “Over my political life Improving the economy of our wonderful town, Wem, was a priority and I am in awe of anyone who sets up a new business.
“Wem is fortunate in having so many independent businesses which makes for a much more interesting shopping experience.
"Jackie is such a hard worker and her innovative idea of having a Monday flower club has been wonderful and many of us members have gained confidence and become quite competent flower arrangers.
“I am sure you will have the support of the residents of Wem and its surroundings and will go from strength to strength."
Jackie added: “I am very honoured to have the support of my family, the people I work with in The Castle, my Flower Club members and other shop keepers and friends.

Jackie works as waitress at The Castle and also holds flower arrangement classes on Mondays while making bouquets for clients.
