A TRACTOR was destroyed by fire in an incident close to Whitchurch on Monday morning.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) firefighters from Whitchurch and Hodnet were called to Fauls Green, between the A41 and A49, shortly before 8.30am on Monday.
A spokesman for SFRS said that the fire also spread to a nearby road surface and hedge as firefighters battled to put it out.

They said: “Tractor in open 100 per cent damaged by fire and a trailer which was 20 per cent damaged by fire.
“The fire spread to 40 metres of hedgerow and road surface.
“Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and one main jet to extinguish fire.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control at around 9.20am confirming no further support was required.
