WEM’S Market Street played host to daytime TV royalty this week as ex-Premier League footballer and Homes under the Hammer star Dion Dublin came to town.
The former Manchester United and Coventry City man turned his hand to presenting the property show in 2015 after a successful playing career that included Aston Villa before finishing his career at Norwich City.
He took to his Instagram page on Tuesday to show off that he was filming at flats in Market Street in Wem for the show.

He said: “I’m on Homes under the Hammer duty in a place called Wem.
“In the centre of Wem, I’ve got a bit of filming.”
Dublin, who also once invented his own instrument called ‘The Dube’, has become a presenting mainstay on the show, which is one of the BBC’s most popular, pulling in around 1.5 million viewers per episode.
He is known for his ‘stairs to the bedroom’ catchphrase.
Each episode follows properties that have been sold at auction and how their new owners get on with renovating and selling them.
