WHITCHURCH Alport were given a special guest visitor at the weekend - and he gave them a gift of three points and a clean sheet.
Father Christmas dropped by Yockings Park for the club’s Midlands Premier Division Cup win over Uttoxeter, from Staffordshire, after he was doing the rounds saying hello to local residents.
Graham King, from Whitchurch Rotary Club who works with the ‘Big Man’ to take out him around the streets of the town and surrounding villages, says he was delighted to help the team out.

“He was fascinated – they don't have anything quite like Alport in Lapland,” said Graham.
“But he enjoyed the game and was very flattered to think that being a temporary mascot might have inspired that winning goal in extra time.
“His Rotary escorts, too, were grateful for such generous support from the Alport club."
Father Christmas got to meet Alport boss Adam Shillcock and all the players thanked him for being their lucky charm.
