SHROPSHIRE-RAISED Taskmaster star Greg Davies came out to support a fundraiser for his hometown’s swimming pool and presented prizes to raffle winners.
The Inbetweeners actor and comedian visited Wem Swimming and Lifestyle Centre for the fundraiser.
Manager of the centre, Karen Creagh spoke to the Man Down star's mother to ask if he could help.

She said: “We relined the pool in July and August and of course we didn’t get any income.
“We asked her if he would be willing to do it – a big name like that can help a lot."
Karen added that Greg was only meant to be there 15 minutes - but he stayed for the full event.
“We thought he’d only be there for 15 minutes but he stayed the full hour through all the tickets”, she added.
“He was an extremely nice gentleman."
The pool is a charity and they thought this would be the best way to pull together some funds following the closure.
Karen continued: “He seemed very happy to do it – and it really helped.”
The raffle raised £1,500 which will go towards the cost of running the centre.
“I am sure he will be okay with doing it again if he’s around”, the manager added.
Now the pool is looking to expand its sustainability and is looking at ways to create a greener system.
Karen said: “There’s always a next project in our minds.”
