THE TALBOT Theatre at Whitchurch Leisure Centre is set to host an exciting lineup of music, theatre and comedy in February and March.

Based at Sir John Talbot's School , North Shropshire Folk has three great gigs there starting with The Haar on Friday, February 2 at 8pm.

THE Haar will treat visitors to singing combined with three of the most exciting instrumentalists on the folk and traditional music circuit.

Their debut album was described by Mike Harding as 'absolutely amazing'.

Ticket costs for this gig stand at £18 for adults and £6 for under 18s.

From February 13 to 16, the Whitchurch Little Theatre will present two one-act plays, Interior Designs by Jimmie Chinn and Rambles on the Radio by Robert Scott.

Later that month, Three Men in a Boat by Giles Shenton Productions will provide the audience music and comedy on February 23 at 7.30pm.

It is followed by a performance by James Rowland titled 'Learning to Fly' on March 22 at 7.30pm.

The latter tells a moving and hilarious story of his teenage years with a mix of theatre, comedy and music.

Rowland's performance was prized as a "riveting, remarkable hour of theatre" by The Guardian.

Both shows are suitable for viewers over 14, and tickets cost £12 for adults, £6 for under 18s, and £30 for families.

On Saturday, March 9, at 8pm the theatre will welcome back MEGSON.

Four times nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, husband and wife Stu and Debbie Hanna draw heavily on their Teeside heritage to create a truly unique brand of folk music.

Tickets are priced at £15, and for under 18's, £6.

Later in the month on Thursday, March 28 at 8pm Irish folk band The Jeremiahs make a welcome return.

The live band constitutes of Joe Gibney from County Dublin on vocals, New York born Matt Mancuso on fiddle and vocals, Conor Crimmins from County Clare on flute and Dublin born James Ryan on fiddle.
