FIREFIGHTERS spent at least nine hours tackling a house fire between Whitchurch and Wem on Saturday evening.
Five Shropshire Fire and Rescue Crews were sent to St Peters Place in Lee Brockhurst, off the A49 near Wem, at 6,05pm on Saturday, March 16.
Firefighters from Wem and Whitchurch were joined by colleagues from Shrewsbury and Hodnet, and a SFRS spokesman confirmed that the fire was across two floors of the property.

They said: “A fire involving the ground and first floor of the property.
“Crews used four hose reel jets, one main jet and four breathing apparatus and other specialist equipment including ceiling hooks and positive pressure fans used to extinguish fire.
“Ladders, small gear and thermal imaging cameras were also used to check for hot spots.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control to confirm that no further support was needed at around 2.45am on Sunday, March 17.
