THE headteacher of a Whitchurch based boy who wrote to King Charles III about his cancer treatment says the school has received a reply from His Majesty.
Last month, Charlie Sambrook – a Year 6 pupil at Tilstock Primary School – wrote to King Charles after it was announced he was receiving treatment for cancer.
Charlie wanted to share his own experiences with the King after he had chemotherapy as a young child and wanted His Majesty ‘to not be afraid’.

And now his headteacher Rowena Kaminski said Buckingham Palace has formally thank Charlie for the kindness he showed to King Charles, much to her delight.
She said: “We are delighted to share the heartwarming news that Charlie has received a letter from Buckingham Palace!
“The letter conveyed His Majesty's deep appreciation for Charlie's courage in sharing his story and expressed gratitude for his wonderfully determined outlook.
“This recognition from Buckingham Palace is truly remarkable and serves as a testament to Charlie's resilience and positivity.
“Well done, Charlie!
“This letter is not just a commendation but a cherished keepsake to treasure forever."
In the letter, written on behalf of His Majesty, Charlie was thanked for his kind words.
It said: "His Majesty greatly appreciates that you should have taken he trouble to write to him as you did, and was deeply touched that you chose to share some occasions in your life where you needed resilience and positivity.
