AN AWARD-winning campsite outside Whitchurch is gearing up for the summer season.
Abbey Green Farm, in Whixall, has just under two weeks to go until owners Rose and Philip Rodenhurst opens the doors to a new season of campers.
Located in the beautiful surroundings of Whixall, the farm has been highlighted by The Sunday Times as one of the top 40 Best Campsites in the UK and named Best Family Campsite in the West Midlands by campsites.co.uk

The pair say that they are keen to offer a camping night to remember with homemade artisan pizzas and decadent afternoon teas served in vintage crockery can be ordered and delivered to your pitch to eat in the tranquil surroundings.
They are also enthusiastic about promoting the local area and offer vintage bikes to hire for visitors to explore the local mosses and canals of Whitchurch.
This season sees the addition of a bespoke Safari Ready Tent that the couple have built themselves.
Rose said: “We are very excited to be offering the 'safari ready tent' to guests who would like the glamping experience without having to bring their own tent.
“The tent is perfect for a couple looking for an escape into the countryside and is tucked away in a private garden area.”
