Police are warning residents after a number of field gates were stolen on the Cheshire border.
Cheshire Police have warned residents to be on alert after thieves targeted gates in Marbury and Bickley earlier this month.
The police criticised the thieves for taking “no consideration” of what may have been in the fields at the time.
Thankfully according to the police no animals escaped or were injured after the gates were stolen.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Please be aware we have received a number of reports of theft of field gates in the Marbury and Bickley areas, Cheshire.
“Not only do these cost money to replace, no consideration was taken by these criminals of what may have been in the fields.
“Livestock are now turned out in the fields and although they did try taking more gates they weren't able to take one gate which was keeping cattle in. Even though it was left slightly open, luckily the cows remained in the field.
“We have visited some of the victims and they have been provided with security information and Selecta DNA to mark their equipment including their gates to prevent this from happening again
“These are large items and would have created some noise when being taken so if you saw any suspicious activity or vehicles over night of April 30 to May 2 please contact either 101 or our online reporting service quoting Iml 1813477.”
