Lloyds bank in Malpas is set to close later this summer as part of a series of closures of rural branches.
The bank has confirmed that the branch on Church Street will be closing as of August meaning there will be no bank of any kind in Malpas or in Whitchurch.
In a statement online Lloyds bank said: “Before we close any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch.
“Most customers are now using our mobile app, internet banking or calling us instead, which means they are using branches, including the Malpas branch much less.
“This means we'll be closing Malpas branch.”

The bank has cited a lack of use in the branch with transactions dropping by two thirds since 2018.
Lloyds have confirmed the branch will permanently close on August 20 and will mean that the nearest two branches for customers will be in Wrexham and Chester.
The bank have confirmed that many of the banking services will still be available through the Post Office on the High Street.
To replace the branch, the bank said other services will be made available to local customers.
A spokesperson for Lloyds said: “After the branch closes, our Community Banker will be available to support you in the local area one day a week.
“We'll update our website with details of where and when you can find them, nearer to the branch closure date.”
Lloyds had said that the closure had been based on underlying statistics with the branch where they found “38 per cent of Personal customers have also used other Lloyds Bank branches – in a 12-month period ending November 2023.
In that time, they found “74 per cent have also used other Lloyds Bank branches, and Internet Banking or called us” and that 51 per cent of the customers had used the Post office for their banking.
