A NORTH Shropshire man has appeared in court charged with rape after he was arrested over the weekend.
John Harvey, whose address was give as Clive Barracks in Tern Hill, near Wem and Whitchurch, was due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court today (Monday) after his arrest on Saturday.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police confirmed the arrest was made after the incident, which happened in Shrewsbury.

They said: “John Harvey, 24, of Clive Barracks in Tern Hill has been charged with rape.
“The charge follows an incident at around 4.30am on Saturday morning (6 July) in Mardol in Shrewsbury.
“He has been remanded in custody to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 8, 2024.”
