A popular kennel business outside Whitchurch has submitted a bid to increase its space with a substantial new block.
Acorn Kennels, based in Heath Road in Whitchurch, put forward the planning application to Shropshire Council in mid-June with consultation set to run until July 30.
According to a planning and access statement, prepared by Halls on behalf of applicants Kevin and Elizebeth Carty, the kennels will be built next to an existing block of 30.

The application said: "Considering the development from a social and economic point of view, although the development is only on a small scale it will have a positive impact on the local and wider community providing and maintaining a much-needed service.”
It added: “The land is centred within the existing kennels and adjacent to the exercise paddock.
“In the near vicinity are commercial properties and a dwelling as can be seen when the site is viewed in a wider context.
“The site is located to the south of the market town of Whitchurch in north Shropshire.
“It is set in a rural environment surrounded by arable farmland. It is situated approximately one mile to the south of Whitchurch.
“The proposal consists of a single-story purpose-built kennel block with a composite panelled roof and walls.

“The building will be bunded to the south to assist in noise reduction…and it has no road frontage as it sits to the rear of the existing unit.”
The statement said that previous applications for the site had been successful in 2016 and 2014.
