A major road in north Shropshire is shut this morning after a HGV crashed into a tree.
The A442 at Peplow, south of Hodnet, is the main road linking the north of the county with Telford, but was closed from about 4.30am after the crash.
Four fire crews have been called to the scene, and a statement on Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service's website shows they were called upon to free one person who was trapped in the vehicle.
The statement reads: "Four fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
"Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
"One large good vehicle in collision with tree - One person trapped released by fire service using cutting equipment."
A tweet from West Mercia Police added: "Please be aware that due to a police incident, there is a road closure in place on A442 between the Hodnetheath Roundabout and Cold Hatton Heath. Please find an alternate route."
Google Maps shows the road remains closed as of 7.30am.
