IT WAS a meeting of generations in a Cheshire village recently as primary school pupils travelled up the road to meet care home residents.

Prospect House Care Home, High Street, Malpas, recently received visit from a group of enthusiastic Year 4 students from local primary school Malpas Alport Endowed Primary School in Chester Road.

Armed with their favourite reading books, the children brought joy and entertainment to the home by reading aloud a variety of captivating stories.

Sarah Stroud, manager at Prospect House Care Home, said the meeting of minds between young and old was a happy experience for all involved.

She said: “We were so very pleased to welcome the children into our home.

“We thoroughly enjoyed the children's company, the smiles and laughter shared said it all.

“We are really looking forward to their next visit." 

The visit, part of an ongoing initiative to foster intergenerational connections, saw the young students showcasing their impressive reading skills.

A spokesman for the home added: “Everyone was charmed by the children's expressive storytelling and delighted in the engaging narratives.

“The students, equally excited about the visit, seemed to enjoy the opportunity to share their reading with a new audience.
