WHITCHURCH commuters have been hit hard on Thursday meaning after a lorry losign its trailer caused long delays.
West Mercia Police officers were called to the A41 between Chester Road and McDonald’s at around 5.15am.
The incident has caused long delays for road users across the morning as, around four hours later, the road remains partially blocked and traffic slow.

This has led to traffic being diverted through Whitchurch to re-join the A41 on the southbound route toward Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police confirmed that the force was called to the incident.
He said: “We received a call around 5.15am this morning with a report of a road traffic incident on the A41 to the A49 roundabout.
“Officers arrived at the location to find a trailer had detached from a lorry.
“They will remain at the scene to control traffic and recovery arrives.
“Thankfully, there were no injuries.”

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were not called to the incident.
Drivers are still being urged to find an alternative route.
According to local reports, the trailer came off the lorry and has come to lay on its side on the northbound carriageway of the A41.
