One person needed medical attention after a house fire in Whitchurch.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service were called out to reports of a house fire in Yardington in the early hours of Wednesday, July 24.

Ambulance teams were also called to the scene and according to the fire service one person was in need of medical assistance.

A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 06:15 on Wednesday, July 24, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service  Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Whitchurch.

“One fire appliance was mobilised from Whitchurch. A Fire Investigation officer was in attendance.

“Crews used Knapsacks, Positive Pressure Ventilation and a Thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.

“Also at the scene of the incident were the Land Ambulance Service .

"The fire involved an electric heater which was out on arrival of crews. Crews used positive pressure ventilation to clear smoke logging and knapsack and thermal imaging camera for the heater.

"The casualty was left in the care of ambulance crews”
