THE headteacher of Whitchurch’s Sir John Talbot’s School has praised the "excellent pupils and staff" who have contributed to a record-breaking year.

Sir John Talbot's School is delighted to announce the outstanding achievements of its students in this year’s GCSE examinations.

The results reflect the hard work and commitment of the students, staff, and the entire school community and according to Tim Stonall, headteacher of Sir John Talbot's School, are the best the school has had in terms of attainment.

“Their resilience and determination have paid off, and these results are a clear indication of their potential.

“I want to thank our dedicated staff for their unwavering support and commitment, which has been instrumental in guiding our students to success.

“This is a proud moment for our entire school community."

The school has seen a significant number of students achieving top grades across a wide range of subjects, reinforcing its reputation for academic excellence.

Mehtba Chata was one of the school’s top performers with 9s in maths, computer science and science and said he was delighted to be able outperform family members.

Other high achievers included Amelia Gureja from Whitchurch with a 9 in Geography and Freya Lucas who picked up a 9 in Fine Art and English Language.

Freya said: “I’m honestly buzzing with my results.

“I couldn’t get to sleep last night because I was so worried but now I’ve got my results I am buzzing.

“This is more or less what I got in my mocks but that in itself brings pressure for me for the GCSEs so I’m delighted.
