Shropdoc is inviting Shropshire residents to complete a survey assessing the quality and accessibility of its GP out-of-hours services.

The not-for-profit organisation, which serves Shropshire, Telford, Wrekin, and Powys, is seeking public opinion to help shape future healthcare in the county.

The Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin NHS Integrated System (STWICS) is soon re-procuring the service as part of its regular commissioning cycle.

Chief executive officer of Shropshire Doctors Co-Operative (Shropdoc) Ltd, Daniel Robinson, said: "This is a standard process within the NHS, occurring every three to five years to promote innovation and efficiency.

"It also provides an opportunity for Shropdoc to demonstrate our local expertise and commitment to providing the best possible care to our patients and the communities we serve."

Shropdoc, with its ‘Outstanding’ Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating, has been a trusted partner in the local health and care system for 28 years.

Providing services from 6.30pm to 8am on weekdays and throughout weekends and bank holidays through referrals from 111, Shropdoc offers telephone triage, advice, support, as well as face-to-face appointments and home visits if needed.

Mr Robinson added: "We encourage all residents to complete the survey and share their experiences and views.

"This feedback will help ensure that the services continue to meet the community’s needs."

STWICS is administering a county-wide engagement exercise, running until September 15, 2024, to gather insights from patient and resident feedback.
