This Halloween, BeWILDerwood in Cheshire is revolutionising trick-or-treating with their new 'Twig or Treat' event.

Merging fun, and magic, the event aims to enhance the traditional trick-or-treating experience through a winding magical light trail peppered with character doors.

Taking place on select evenings from October 12 to November 3, 2024, the Twig or Treat at The Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade will include new earlier arrival slot times between 5.30pm to 7.30pm to accommodate families with younger children.

Visitors are encouraged to don their most frightful Halloween costumes before stepping on the trail.

With lanterns in hand, children will explore the Halloween trail, lit up with twinkling lights, shiny disco balls, BeWILDerbats and a giant pumpkin.

In addition to Twig or Treat, the event also features a new 10-minute show, Twig or Treat Tales at the Storytelling Stage.

The fun doesn’t stop there.

Children will have a chance to meet their favourite BeWILDerwood characters hidden behind various doors along the path.

These include The Good Wood Witch, The Thornyclod Spider, and Mildred the Crocklebog, among others, each with a 'twig' or 'treat' to offer.

Lauren Boughey, one of the park performance leads at BeWILDerwood, voiced her excitement over the new concept saying: "We’re so excited to introduce Twig or Treat to our visitors this Halloween.

"Our Halloween event is always so popular with visitors, so this year’s new concept just makes the event bigger and better!

"We wanted to create a really safe environment for families to enjoy Halloween and avoid the hassle of traditional trick-or-treating!

"Our team has worked hard to create an experience that’s both fun and spooky, but still very much in keeping with the magic of BeWILDerwood - don’t worry, it’s spooky, not scary!

"We can’t wait to see families in their best fancy dress exploring the trail, meeting their favourite characters, and enjoying Halloween with us."

Tickets for the event are priced at £14.50 and go on general sale from September 6, 2024.

The ticket pre-sale has already begun for newsletter subscribers, with some dates already in high demand.

It's anticipated that once tickets go on general sale, they'll sell out quickly, so early booking is highly recommended.

Each child will be given one small sweet at the end of the event.
