Comedy, music and mystery come to Whitchurch as part of the Blackberry Fair's 'Sugar Fiddle on the Fringe'.

The entertainment kicks off with North Shropshire Folk welcoming back the much-loved Melrose Quartet on Sunday, September 15 at 8pm at The Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre.

Consisting of two popular folk duos Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, and Jess and Richard Arrowsmith, they're considered one of the best acapella groups on the UK folk scene.

Tickets are priced at £18, with £6 for those under 18, available through www.northshropshirefolk.com or at 07506724572.

'Fringe' festivities continue with Black Liver Theatre Company's presentation of 'Devilled Eggs', a comedy with a blend of music and mystery set in a Blackpool B and B.

Fans may recall Black Liver's visit last year with their show, Miss Nobodies.

They'll take the stage once again at The Talbot Theatre on Thursday, October 3 at 7.30pm as part of Arts Alive.

Adding to the Arts Alive celebrations, on Saturday, October 12 at 7.30pm, prepare for a show with 'Bowjangles', a quartet of classically trained musicians delivering a unique blend of virtuosic playing, stunning singing, slapstick comedy and various dance styles.

Their eccentric Vaudeville-style performance spans tango and Charleston to gypsy and jazz.

Tickets for both these shows are £12 with £6 for under 18s, and are available on www.artsalive.co.uk, at Crafty Birds in Bredwood Arcade, Whitchurch, or call 07506724572.
