A WHITCHURCH beauty therapist who also takes to the skies with British Airways as Cabin Crew has admitted her delight at setting up a new base.

Yasmine Brassington, 31, runs Smooth Beauty Studio from Coarser House in Green End, having officially opened on Friday night in her first solo venture after a decade of working in the industry.

She was visited by Whitchurch mayor Councillor Andy Hall to officially open the business, joined by Cllr Gregory Ebbs, and she explained how her background has equipped for this new business.

She said: “I was in beauty therapy and then I was trained in intimate waxing and it really took off, and I found myself enjoying the trust that ladies put in me and it worked well.

“They felt comfortable with me and I built up quite a large client base for intimate waxing so I decided to specialize in it.

“That gave me the chance to strike out on my own.

“I’ve got a three-year-old boy and quite a busy life and I’m also cabin crew for British Airways.

“I think that helps with this as it’s off-the-cuff, it’s very demanding and you’re dealing with all walks of life and character types.

“That has definitely benefitted me.”

Yasmine says the space in Whitchurch is perfect for her needs in setting up a business that specialises in client care.

She added: “The premises is like a little business centre – I hadn’t contemplated going out on my own yet and then saw a sign offering office space.

“I sent my mum to go have a look at the space but they couldn’t show them the initial one but they showed her another one.

“My mum woke me up when I was in New York on a work trip to tell me how perfect this space was. It has its own reception area and its own toilet, and its own entrance.

“It’s great how nestled away it is – people want peace and quiet, and anonymity – it’s convenient and private.”

And Yasmine added that she was ‘highly-impressed’ by the mayor’s willingness to get involved.

She said: “The mayor was very brave and he volunteered for treatment in a room full of ladies.

“If all else fails, he’s got a future as a model in the beauty industry.”
