A Whitchurch company has been taken over by a multi-national firm - in a move that could create more jobs in the town.
Needham Inks based in Waymills Industrial Estate in Whitchurch have announced that it has been acquired by Dutch company Cyklop.
The 62-year-old Shropshire company, which produces printer inks, said its recent acquisition “opens up exciting opportunities, allowing us to expand our network and strengthen our market presence”.

Managing Director of The Needham Group, Aled Ellis, said: “Joining forces with Cyklop marks an exciting new chapter for Needham, enabling us to strengthen our position across Europe, Africa, and parts of the Middle East while continuing to deliver the innovative coding and marking solutions our customers trust.
“With Cyklop’s global reach and resources, we can expand our product offerings and provide even greater value to new and existing customers.
“I look forward to leading this next phase of growth and working closely with the Cyklop team to ensure our continued success."
According to Needham Inks the acquisition has already led to new roles being created within the business, some of which have already been filled.
The company added that the acquisition "will be creating more jobs locally within the area as we grow further".
Cyklop was founded in 1912 and has 20 factories and production facilities across Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Brazil, the UK, Ireland, and the US. Cyklop has more than 1,200 employees in 24 countries.
