Farm Manager Breiffni Daly accepted the Farmers Weekly awards on Thursday night in front of a packed audience of farmers and industry representatives at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
Breiffni says budget is key where he manages a 1,500-head herd and a team of 14 employees at Sansaw Dairies.
Following this mantra, he demonstrates a clear command of the figures as well as an ability to adapt and the determination to get the best from his farm business.

Originally joining the business as a herdsman in 2012, and then returning to Sansaw as a manager in 2020, he has refined systems to make things run more smoothly by introducing standard operating procedures and adapting the original setup in practical ways to improve efficiency.
Managing a big team with a history of high turnover meant a review of recruitment and staff appraisals, alongside skilling up the dairy team.
Breiffni values the farm’s membership of three discussion/benchmarking groups, each with a different focus, and with some of the divisional managers attending these.
The Farm Manager of the Year was sponsored by Safety Revolution. Actor and comedian Stephen Mangan hosted the awards.
