THE Malpas-based actor/director team of Ian Bartholemew and Loveday Ingram are set for a one-night show at Chester’s Storyhouse theatre.
Ian, best known for his terrifying performance as Geoff Metcalfe in ITV’s Coronation Street and Loveday Ingram, a veteran theatre director, will be putting on a musical adaptation of poet Pam Ayres 2022 book ‘Who Are You Calling Vermin?’
The pair are married and their children attend school in the Malpas area.

A spokesman for the show said: “Ian has an extensive career in musicals and comedy, including Olivier Nominated performances in Half A Sixpence, Mrs Henderson Presents, Into the Woods and Radio Times.
“Ian won a Manchester Evening News Award for his portrayal of Doolittle in Pygmalion at the Royal Exchange.
“He has recently been seen in blockbuster film Wonka with Timothee Chalamet, and with Jason Statham in Operation Fortune.”
Loveday has had an extensive directing career with her show for the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Rover, winning a UK Theatre Award.
She also works locally with shows at Theatre Seven and even Iscoyd Park as well as Chester and Liverpool.
A spokesman for the show added: “The show is a light-hearted and comedic exploration of tensions in the countryside, which in poems, songs and anecdotes scrutinises the loss of wildlife, the changing climate, second homeowners, and the ever-present conflict between humans and animals.
“There’s a serious message or two in there as well.
“Included are the shanty-singing fishermen, shotgun-toting toffs, and poor defeated Joe as he struggles with his new electric car.

“And the animals are not left out either as we hear from a streetwise Fox, a sultry squirrel and the homeless owl.
“They rock, they rap, they croon, and they invite you to question and to hope for a more harmonious future for us all.”
