In a post shared online by the town council it showed a toilet bowl where the seat had been removed and the bowl had been stuffed full of litter such as sweet wrappers and coke bottles.
As a result of this and “continued anti-social behaviour” taking place in the area the block will be closed for the coming months.
The town council has asked the public for any information about who may have committed the crime.
In a post online a spokesperson for Wem Town Council said: “Due to the continued anti-social behaviour that has been taking place in the toilet cubicle on Wem Recreation Ground, the toilet will now be closed until the Spring.
“If anyone has any information on who was responsible for the most recent damage please ring the Town Council on 01939 232733. Thank you.”
