TYRES and domestic waste in Whitchurch’s public park prompted the call out of firefighters late on Tuesday evening.
One crew from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service’s (SFRS) station in Whitchurch was sent to Jubilee Park at 9.45pm following reports of the fire.
A SFRS spokesman confirmed that firefighters attended the scene and also reported the incident to West Mercia Police.

They said: “There was a report of a small fire in the park consisting of tyres and domestic waste.

“Crews extinguished using a knapsack and rakes to clear.
“This incident has been reported to the police.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control at around 10pm confirming no further support was required.
