DIGNITARIES and VIP guests were joined by school children to plant a special time capsule at the nearly-completed Pauls Moss development in Whitchurch.

Town mayor Councillor Andy Hall was joined by North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan, Shropshire councillors including Peggy Mullock and Tom Biggins plus members of Wrekin Housing Group which is overseeing the development.

Pupils from across the area also joined in with commemorations which included items of note from schools in Whitchurch as well as other community groups.

Cllr Hall said he was delighted to be at the event with so many others.

He said: “I was delighted to join Helen Morgan, pupils from our local schools and the amazing staff and team from Wrekin to bury the time capsule to which we had all contributed.

“We were fortunate to have a full tour of this groundbreaking facility which when operational, will transform medical care for the people of Whitchurch.

“It is another step forward for our town.”

The Pauls Moss development is nearing completion to offer 21st century medical facilities to people in the own, to help alleviate the pressure on local GPs while also providing housing and other services to older people.

The multi-million pound development, which is a joint operation between Wrekin, Shropshire Council and doctors surgeries in Whitchurch, will also offer new jobs in the area.

Mrs Morgan, the Liberal Democrat MP for North Shropshire, said she was also delighted to be invited along to the time capsule event.
