Two people, including a seriously injured driver, were airlifted to hospital after a crash near Whitchurch.

Emergency services including firefighters, police and paramedics from Shropshire and north Wales responded to the serious two-vehicle crash which happened on the A495 in Bronington on Sunday evening (November 10).

A spokesperson for Ellesmere Fire Station said: “At 5.19pm, we were mobilised to reports of an RTC Persons Trapped on Ellesmere Road, Bronnington.

“On arrival, we found that occupants were not trapped and made vehicles electrically safe whilst police and ambulance colleagues carried out their work.”

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that two people at the scene were taken to Royal Stoke Hospital with the driver of one of the vehicles having suffered 'serious' injuries. 

Police have asked for anyone who may have information about the crash to come forward.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly before 5pm on Sunday, November 10th, we received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A495 between Bronington and Bettisfield, which closed the road.

“Officers from North Wales Police attended, along with colleagues from the ambulance service and an air ambulance.

“Two people were taken to Stoke hospital, with one of the drivers sustaining serious injuries.

“Anyone with information in relation to the collision is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101, or via the website, using reference number Q170102.”
