YOUNGSTERS at a school outside Whitchurch have been given an animal experience that made their heads turn – owls!
Steve Cross, from Wem-based Shropshire Falconry Limited, visited Tilstock Primary School last week with some of his animals for children to enjoy.
And the fun didn’t stop at the pupils as even the school’s headteacher Rowena Kaminski took the chance to come close to the amazing animals in Steve’s employ.

“As part of our nurture value, it's important for our children to understand and appreciate the creatures that share our planet, ensuring we can care for them for generations to come.
“We were incredibly lucky to welcome Steve from Shropshire Falconry into school for a special hands-on learning session all about Owls.
“We met some truly magnificent owls, including a Barn Owl, a Tawny Owl, a Little Owl, and a Milky Eagle Owl!
Steve shared fascinating facts about these nocturnal creatures, including their habitats and what they eat; how they can fly silently and why they are such important animals in our ecosystem.
