PREES United Football Club have folded with immediate effect.
The north Shropshire club confirmed its decision and will cease after 15 years.
A club spokesman said: “This era of Prees Football Club has come to an end.
“With manager Matt Owen stepping down the decision has been made to fold as a club.
“We have come such a long way in the last 15 years, starting from scraps to become an established Shropshire League side.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved along the way not just playing but all the other stuff needed to help run a successful football club.
“We’ve always tried to lay a platform for local lads to just come play football and be part of a team and have fun on and off the pitch. “
However it is hoped the club’s facilities at the Recreation Ground will be taken on by another club to ensure football in the village one day continues.
The club spokesman added: “As one door closes another opens. Prees has a great set up with facilities most clubs envy.
“So if you’re interested in starting up a team like we did all those years ago please get in touch with Gary at Prees club on 07745 953560.
“It would be great to see the name carry on.”
The demise of the club comes after Shropshire Premier League rivals Broseley folded in April and leaves the league in need of new clubs.
Meanwhile Bethany Cooke starred with four goals as Whitchurch Alport lifted the Staffordshire Women’s League following a 13-0 drubbing of Abbey Hulton United on Sunday.
Julia Urbanczyk and Danni Prince netted twice while Rose-Anna Cooper, Nisa Mendez, Amber Merrifield, Ruth Tierney and Sophie Barker completed the rout.
Natasha Groom scored a consolation goal as Prees United lost 4-1 at home to AFC Telford Development.
