PLANS to convert a former dental surgery in Whitchurch into a home will not need prior planning permission, Shropshire Council has ruled.
An application to turn the former surgery in St Mary's Street was submitted to Shropshire Council in May this year by David Atkins, from Ellesmere.
According to an application form, Mr Atkins was seeking to confirm whether prior approval was needed to turn the ground floor premises into a dwelling.

The form states that the first floor of the building is already a dwelling and that windows on the building would provide adequate light.
A decision notice from Shropshire Council planning officer Tabitha Lythe confirmed that no prior planning permission was needed.
She said: “Shropshire Council hereby gives notice that prior approval is not required subject to the conditions imposed by paragraph.”
There are three conditions in place on the conversion into the dwelling including completing the work within three years.
