THE grand opening of a boxing club in Whitchurch will attract a number of VIP guests next week.
The Fort Boxing Club, based on the Waymills Industrial Estate, will have its grand opening from 1-4pm on Saturday, September 2.
Daniel Bailey, owner of the club which works with youngsters to train in boxing, said he hoped to see people come along for the big day.
“Everyone is welcome,” he said.
“Please feel free to pop down to take a look around and chat with the team.
“We have some amazing special guests attending.
“We will be welcomed by Anna Turner, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire; Mandy Thorn, the High Sheriff of Shropshire; Councillor Andy Hall, the mayor of Whitchurch and former SAS Rob Paxman.
“It will also be a great opportunity to come down to have a photo taken with professional boxer Liam Davies, who is the British and European WBC and WBO international champion.”
Young boxers will be able to get a picture with Liam from 1pm until 2.30pm at Unit 8 at Digital Court on the estate.
