Whitchurch Alport endured a miserable weekend with a 5-0 defeat at home to Midlands Premier League title chasers Lichfield City on Saturday.
Jack Edwards, Jamie Elkes, Joseph Haines, Liam Kirton and Leighton Mcmenemy goals ensured a day to forget for Adam Shillcock’s men.
Wem Town breathed new life into their battle against Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League relegation with a 2-1 win at St Martins on Saturday.

“In a big rivalry game the lads dug in and worked harder than the opposition and got the result they deserved. Hopefully we can build on this result and put a nice little run together.”
Josh Leach struck for the Saints but goals from Jordan Batchelor and James Astley sealed glory for the Wemites who eased their own relegation fears with a much-needed three points.
Whitchurch Alport 1946 were edged out in a 2-1 defeat at Shifnal Town 1964 with goals from Jesse Kudjordjie and Harry Nesbitt cancelling Matt Owen’s reply.
Ellesmere Rangers tasted a 2-0 defeat at AMS with goals from Ryan Mccay and Tyler Evans settling the outcome.
Rangers also fell to a 4-1 defeat at home to Shrewsbury Up and Comers in midweek with a consolation goal from Louie Millington cancelled out by two goals from Ryan Knott and strikes from Jordy Kennedy and Jamie Robinson.

Rangers manager Josh Gough said: “Disappointing last couple of results for us.
“We need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. It will be a difficult test at the weekend against Morda but one we are hopeful of taking something from though.”
Meanwhile Ellesmere Blues celebrated a 5-3 win at home to FC Nations in the Greenhous Shrewsbury Sunday Premier League to toast their first victory of the campaign and ease their relegation fears.
Ellesmere United shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Frankwell Foxes in division one while Wem Town Reserves fell to a 2-0 defeat at Worthen Juniors in division two of the Sunday League.
