LEWIS Brown was the toast of the town as Whitchurch Alport prevailed 1-0 winners at home to Dudley Town on Saturday.
The result saw the Reds climb to sixth in the Midlands Premier League table ahead of the weekend trip to 1874 Northwich as Adam Shillcock bids to guide his side into a play off spot.
Shillcock said: “They made things difficult for us but we worked hard and got the result and we always like to keep a clean sheet.
“We need to build up some momentum now as we have some really difficult games coming up.”

Meanwhile the Reds have bolstered with the signing of Roman Allen from Newcastle.
The former TNS youngster also had a spell at Ramsbottom United last year and arrives at Yockings Park with Shillcock a big admirer.
“It is another long term target secured,” said Shillcock. “Roman has been on our radar for a while having moved back to the area. He is young and already has a lot of experience so he compliments the group really well.”
Matthew Mulcahy was the match winner as Ellesmere Rangers battled to a 1-0 win at Shrewsbury Juniors in the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League on Saturday.
The club has received a first team kit from Princes LHS Ltd, specialists in renewable energy installations.
Managing director Matt Smith is a former Ellesmere Rangers player himself and Matt’s late Father Mike Smith was a member of the successful side that lifted the Shropshire Junior Cup at Shrewsbury Town’s Gay Meadow in 1981.
Matt said: “Having lived in Ellesmere all my life, it is a real privilege to be able to support Ellesmere Rangers and I wish them all the success for the future playing in their new kit.”
Sam Flory starred with four goals while Chris Owen completed the scoring as Whitchurch Alport 1946 eased to a 5-0 win at Ercall Evolution.
Ollie Dunn struck a consolation as 10 man Wem Town lost 5-1 at home to NC United with Jack Parry dismissed for the hosts.
A Dan Parker double earned Prees United a 2-1 win at Shrewsbury Up & Comers Development in division one with Liam Edwards replying.
